Kicking Off Summer In Glen Cove

The sun is shining bright, boats are out on Hempstead Bay and temperatures are on the rise - it's Memorial Day Weekend in Glen Cove! Kick off the season with a series of great, family-friendly events. Free events are available all summer long in Glen Cove, and The Beacon at Garvies Point is close to them all.

Friday, May 24 Glen Cove 350 Old Timer’s Baseball Game 7:00 p.m., at the John Maccarone Memorial Stadium. Take a trip back in time and watch the game as it was played in the Elysian Fields of the 19th century, with vintage equipment, uniforms and no gloves.Old-Timers-Baseball-photo-1024x682
Saturday, May 25 Glen Cove Beaches Open 12 noon: Celebrate the summer at Prybil Beach with a Giant Beach Ball Roll and photo opportunities. Morgan Park and Crescent beach will also open for the season, with hours from 9am-5pm on the weekends and Memorial Day. Beaches will open during the week in late June. Beach
Saturday, May 25 Memorial Day Downtown Street Fair & Music Showcase 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Glen and School Streets. Join your neighbors for a fun afternoon of arts, unique shopping, food trucks, entertainment and bounce houses for the kids. Rock out to the jams of local band Glass Bottom Soul, who will be performing at 1pm.Downtown-1
Monday, May 27 Glen Cove Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade 11:00 a.m. Help us honor our veterans by attending the Ceremony at Monument Park. From there, the parade will assemble at 11:30 am and step off at noon. The line of march begins at Cottage Row and Forest Avenue, continues down School Street, left onto Glen Street, right onto Pulaski Street, right onto the Arterial Highway, past the reviewing stand in front of Glen Cove Public Library, and ends at Charles Street.Parade
