Sledding in Glen Cove

Glen Cove got hit with more than a foot of snow this week! That means perfect conditions for sledding! Read more to learn about sledding, sleigh riding and cross-country skiing in Glen Cove on Long Island, New York.

There are several spots to sleigh ride in Glen Cove. The most popular is Morgan Park. Just 5 minutes from Garvies Point, Morgan Park was once part of J.P. Morgan's estate and was leased to the City of Glen Cove for $1. At Morgan Park you can enjoy sledding and waterfront views. To reach the park from Garvies Point Head southwest on Herb Hill Rd toward Garvies Point Rd. Turn right onto Dickson St. Turn left onto McLoughlin St. Follow McLoughlin Street almost to the end, and make a right onto Germaine Street. The entrance to the parking lot will be on the left.

Other sledding spots in Glen Cove include Robert M. Finley Middle School and Gribbin Elementary School.

Cross country skiing enthusiasts should check out the Welwyn Preserve off of Crescent Beach Road or the Garvies Point Preserve.
