Holidays in Glen Cove

Celebrate the holiday season in Glen Cove. There are fun activities and events scheduled throughout the season. Cheers!

Saturday, November 25
Opening of the downtown Merry Tree Festival
Join us for a unique display of 40 “living” Christmas trees custom decorated by local businesses and families as well as free horse and carriage rides from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with free hot cocoa, coffee, candy canes and photos with Santa. Throughout the holiday season, take a walking tour of downtown Glen Cove and see over 40 "living" holiday trees that have been custom decorated by area businesses (including Garvies Point!). AfterJanuary 6,  all trees will be planted in City parks/properties and five trees will be designated to start Glen Cove's first Christmas Tree Farm. 

Saturday, November 25
"Tree of Light” tree lighting ceremony 
 4:45 p.m. at  Village Square with a musical performance by Frank Rendo.  Guests are asked to bring a food or toy donation to be distributed to Glen Cove charities. The 25’ Blue Spruce tree was donated by a local Glen Cove resident and RXR Realty will host the tree at their Village Square development.

U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys 4 Tots collection and rally
From 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at 1 School Street, Glen Cove residents can donate new unwrapped toys to be donated to the less fortunate

Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Wonderland at the Glen Cove Mansion

Friday, December 15
Glen Cove Youth Bureau’s Milk & Cookies with Santa
6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
Each registered family will receive a free photo with Santa; enjoy a holiday reading and delicious treats. This is a free event but reservations are required for children from infancy to age 10 and their families. Call the Glen Cove Youth Bureau at (516) 671-4600 between 11/28-12/7 for reservations. Glen Cove residents only and space is limited.
